SPOTLIGHT invites you to peep your way through a very special 2-part evening, in celebration of legendary disco pioneer PATRICK COWLEY.

You may recognize his name from his original productions of “Menergy,” “Megatron Man,” his collaborations with disco diva Sylvester (“Do Ya Wanna Funk“), and his remixes (“I Feel Love“). But before he was famous, he made a living scoring music for gay porn films. Our brethren Honey Soundsystem and Dark Entries Records uncovered Cowley’s original cues for the Fox Studio release SCHOOL DAZE. They have faithfully remastered and released these dark, sleazy, proto-disco-house cues for all to hear — and will join us in LA for a double-header that would make Cowley blush.

Our friends, DJs Jason Kendig, Jacob PeePlay, Robot Hustle, and Spotlight-veteran Josh Cheon comprise Honey Soundsystem — a weekly dance party in SF that began in 2006.  They have played host to many of our favorite DJs and music makers over the years, and created record labels Dark Entries, Discaire, and HNYTRX.  They just celebrated their final Sunday at the Holy Cow in SF last month.  We are lucky to have the entire crew performing at Spotlight — a first for Los Angeles.
